[Yeahhh she'd wondered what had happened. That explains so much. It also sets off an idea--or reminds her of an idea that she's been mulling over since the newcomer troubles have started.

Korra purses her lips, looking off to the side. Then, she blurts out:]

We should go looking for apartments together!

[...wait, that didn't come out right.]

Uh, I mean... I've been thinking about moving out of Air Temple Island. It'd be better if we're living close by, right?

[The sudden exclamation surprised him enough to slightly tighten his grip on the plush.]

I-yeah. It would, I mean.

[Then his memory catches up with him, the implied thought of him and Korra sharing an apartment his brain put there is pushed aside.]

Asami did offer to let me stay at her mansion when I told her where I've been sleeping at. [Just guess where.] I didn't give her an answer yet.

[He looks at Korra, an expression of uncertainty mixed with a strong hint of curiosity. The question he left for later has an answer now, maybe?

He'd say exactly what he means, but that require words. Awkward words.]

[She frowns. Where I've been sleeping at.] Mako--you've been sleeping at the the police department again?

[Didn't we already go over this?]

Are you going to say yes?

[Korra isn't sure what to think of this, honestly. On the one hand, she doesn't want Mako sleeping under his desk like he's been, but on the other, she'd already warmed up to the idea of her, Mako, and maybe Bolin living so close together.]

[One corner of Mako's mouth apparently tries to flee his face at Korra's question. It's obvious she guesses it right on the money.]

She didn't really give me a chance to say no.

[He sighs and scratches the back of his head.]

I said I'd see about packing my things up and heading over when I'm not pulling crazy hours.

[But since he makes his own hours without Lin around, that's an act he can pull indefinitely.]

[Korra's eyes narrow a little. It wouldn't take that long to pack up his things and move in.]

And...how long ago was that?

[She might know him a little too well.]

[Crap. The pitfalls of having an ex that knows you better than yourself.]

...about a week. Sort of.

[Beat.]

It's been busy.

Too busy to take a couple hours off and move all your stuff?

[She isn't busy it at all.]

Mako, you can't keep sleeping at your job. If you're really that busy, Bolin and I can help you, too, and cut down on the time.

I just- it feels out of place. [He shakes his head.] It’s hard to explain.

[Seeing an ex every day because you’re living with them? Definitely out of place.]

And there’s not a lot to pack. [Losing a lot thanks to the vines and then most of the rest in the explosions, it’s probably not much of a surprise.]
